Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 8
Pros: "Genie-Soft" has made a huge improvement over version 7. It's now fully compatible with "Vista" and the "Vista Disaster Recovery" module is an excellent tool. It has a great GUI and pretty much does everything it claims it will. Like I said, this release is like night and day compared to version 7, which was useless. It can now backup your whole system including your operating system, applications, files, folders, photos music, downloaded movies and emails. I like this application but doubt it's for everyone. This may be the most improved software application of 2007.
Cons: It is a big install at 175 MB on disk. It's expensive and not that easy to use. It does take some computer savvy and time in the help files to figure it out. If you are above average in computer knowledge, if you are willing to take the time to learn how to use it and are willing to spend $70 then this is a good choice although not a necessary application for "Vista" because it has it's own (decent) backup capabilities built in.

Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 8
Pros: Backup is easily done. Backup can be set to run automatically. Recovery is safe and fast (I've had a dead PC and was saved by Genie). Their service is excellent: My private version once crashed, they tried for a couple of days to help. It could not be fixed and they gave me a free upgrade to the pro version.
