Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 7
Pros: Nice interface.
Cons: This products simply doesn't work!
Its not even suitable for a beta release, it has that many bugs. I tried it on two laptops, to do a simple image of the hard drive. Both failed on the burn process numerous times. I updated the software, and tried again. Again the burn process crashed on both computers.
Also, of what I did see actually working in the program, the backup process is VERY slow... almost 5 times longer for similar, and infinitely superior, backup application like Paragon Backup.
Don't bother downloading this: by the sounds of some of the reviews on this page, Genie actually know their application is a pile of rubbish.

Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 7
Pros: As far as I can tell, the basic, full backups were done accurately, in a nonproprietary format that makes it easy to find and retrieve a particular file you are looking for.
Cons: I purchased the "Pro" version of this product because I wanted to do differential backups. But it does not work as specified, at least not with the jobs I created on my computer. It backed up files that were not changed since the last full backup.
After you do the first run of a backup job, a differential backup is supposed to back up only the changed files, but it backs up everything again (with some, but not all, jobs). This problem is reported over and over on Genie-Soft's user forums.
And in backing up to multiple CDs, the write operation consistently failed, on my drive, after the first CD.
Their tech support advice is minimal and unclear. Because of the time difference, it typically takes a day for them to read what you write to them, and often they just don't read it carefully, wasting a day at a time. Often their advice does not focus on the problem; they get distracted with procedures like scheduling and purging that don't fix anything because the basic problem is still there. I went round and round with them for over two months, and more problems appeared in the supposedly improved software.
Buggy, confusing, untold hours of frustration, a tremendous waste of time and discs. To their credit, they finally gave me a refund (after many weeks of pleading on my part, and broken promises from tech support; it took them over a month from the time a refund was promised to issue a credit).
My advice: don't give them your money in the first place.

Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 7
"Buggy Software (no pun intended as in horse and)"
Pros: Wouldn't let me select a zero rating.
No 'Pros', as per statements below!
Cons: Doesn't backup all selected files and doesn't give and error to that effect. Wouldn't trust this for reliable backups!

Version: Genie Backup Manager Professional 7
"A complete waste of time and money"
Pros: Nice interface for selecting files.
Cons: So full of bugs it is unusable.
If you select MIRROR backup it works the first time and then starts to remove files on subsequent backups, from an original backup of 89MB I ended up with a backup of 3MB.
If you backup from a desktop icon you have to wait 10 seconds before the backup starts regardless of how you set the defaults.
The program is utter rubbish and should not be on the market.
Shows Outlook Exoress *.pst files twice in the tree and believe it or not backs them up twice even though there is only one file.
Stay well clear of this program if you value your sanity.
