Version: Genie Backup Manager Home 8
"Similar to the pro version but $20 cheaper."
Pros: "Genie-Soft" has made a huge improvements to both versions of their software since version 7. It's now fully compatible with "Vista" and the "Vista Disaster Recovery" module is an excellent tool. It has a great GUI and pretty much does everything it claims it will. Version 7, was next to useless and buggy as they get, but this one performs good. It can now backup your whole system including your operating system, applications, files, folders, photos music, downloaded movies and emails. I like this application and think it's a good investment for home users. This is one of the the most improved software applications of 2007.
Cons: Take the tour some and spend some time in the help files to figure it out. You don't need to be a pro to use this application. If you are willing to take the time to learn how to use it and are willing to spend $50, this is a good choice to backup any home computer.

"Does the job, however of limited use as all trial software"
Pros: Good at backups and restores
Cons: Trial software....no more need be said re this. Files generated are exclusive use to genie (no other software can use previous backups)

"Horrible Horrible The WORST Ver 8.0 STAY AWAY"
Pros: I brought it two weeks ago and STILL cannot do a backup with it.
When one problem fixed it creates two more negating any backup.
I need a Western Digital Back Up software. Anybody have a copy?

Version: Genie Backup Manager Home 8
"An excellent backup programme"
Pros: Simple to use and very quick once you have done one backup then you can just load that programme to do another without worry.
Cons: It was very easy to do a Disaster Recovery disc but I am still trying to backup my programmes onto an external hard disc as it failed after after 2 hours.....maybe my external HDD over heated?
