A 'Computer Setting Firewall' is an excellent description. Geek Superhero protects your browser's home page; lets you know if a new program is set to start when Windows starts; keeps your modem from being changed to dial expensive long distance numbers; even catches many of the changes a virus, worm, or Trojan program will make to your computer… There are dozens and dozens of important settings that are protected. Geek Superhero also includes other tools like a pop-up blocker, a 'Web bug' blocker to keep Web sites from tracking you, an easy way to turn off Windows services that aren't used (and have been security holes or are just used to show you ads).
Version 1.0.2 features minor improvements and bug fixes.
