Publisher's Description

Just draw the pictures, type some text, click a few buttons, choose some options... and an adventure game is completed! You are not required to learn a programming language, but there is a simple built-in BASIC-like scripting language that you can use to make your games the best they can be.

"Easily make your own adventure games."
Version: GameMaker 3.9.94
Pros
GameMaker does not require deep knowledge of programming languages. Normal humans can actually make playable games that are actually fun to play.
Cons
Due to the compromises necessary to make game making accessible to normal human beings, the sophistication of game design is limited.
Summary
GameMaker is intended for a non-programmers to be able to make adventure games. The compromises necessary do impose limits on the sophistication of the game, but it does allow almost any normal human being (i.e., someone not immersed in the arcane world of Objective C or compiled BASIC languages) to make a serviceable and playable game.
