As various media players jockey for position to become your default setting for music and video streams, GOM Media Player's support for a wide range of file formats has helped it stand out as a firm favorite.
Supported formats include DAT, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, ASF, AVI, and MOV, as are common codecs like FLV1, AC3, OGG, MP4, and H263. A pop-out playlist can save and organize your various media files, though the limited sort modes--two--hardly makes it a champ.
More impressive are the customizable settings on the control panel. Here you can adjust a video's image brightness, hue, and saturation. There's no preview window, and changes occur as the video runs, so unless you care for a rousing session of trial and error, be sure to tweak the settings after clicking "play." There's also a built-in screen-capture feature that includes zooming and panning, customizable themes, hot keys, and a host of preset and adjustable audio controls.
GOM is weakest when you're looking for help documentation and trying to tweak Save settings, but overall it's a very strong player worth at least a supporting role in your video-watching habits, if not the lead.

Version: GOM Media Player 2.0.12.3375
Pros: Megatons of options, audio equalizer (supports winamp plugins) and wav extractor, many video and output options and settings, good and functional UI, screen capture, with burst capture option, many subtitle settings, screen manipulation, the most complete video player there is, just naming its options would take pages.
Works great, output is excellent and those options actually work.
Cons: You have to change subtitle extension from .sub to .srt in order to work.

Version: GOM Media Player 2.0.12.3375
Pros: Plays all types of files .. much more than Mr. Gates WMP(which I hear now reguires validation .. tch tch) . Gom player also seems much lighter on system resources and gives u lots and lots of things to chop and change (including a set-up wizard that runs gom player according to your system components and your personal prefernces .. neat). So its a must have for people who play lots of different video files . Actually I find it better than the much talked about VLC Player .
Cons: A menu bar would have been useful specially because of the loads of options it provides . Also it's not as popular as VLC Player though I find it much better .

Version: GOM Media Player 2.0.12.3375
Pros: GOM plays all my files with ease and allows me to adjust the quality of the movies, etc. as I see fit. Much better than Media Player imo.
Cons: Yet to find one worth mentioning.

Version: GOM Media Player 2.0.12.3375
Pros: It has gorgeous display. Two thumbs up !!!
Personally I think it's better than windows media player because when I enlarge/maximize it, it also enlarge/maximize the movie (which windows media player can not do, that's why I hate windows media player).
It can play various movies' extentions such as .mpeg, .asx, .asf, and .3gp
It can also play rare extentions such as .flv
Cons: It has several problems:
1. Eventhough in the GOM Wizard I checked Windows Media Files and MPG AVI Files should be handled by GOM, It still cannot associate .mpg, .mpeg, and .asf extentions.
2. In the GOM Wizard I also checked RealMedia AV Files should be handled by GOM. It successfully associate the .rm
But it cannot play the .rm movies. It told me that it has to find codec in the internet.
I click the find codec hyperlink, and ended up in downloading RealAlternative.
I don't want to download it, I already have RealPlayer.
If it can not play .rm, it doesn't have to give options to associate .rm to it. Right?
Now I have to manually associate .rm back to it's master: RealPlayer.
