As various media players jockey for position to become your default setting for music and video streams, GOM Media Player's support for a wide range of file formats has helped it stand out as a firm favorite.
Supported formats include DAT, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, ASF, AVI, and MOV, as are common codecs like FLV1, AC3, OGG, MP4, and H263. A pop-out playlist can save and organize your various media files, though the limited sort modes--two--hardly makes it a champ.
More impressive are the customizable settings on the control panel. Here you can adjust a video's image brightness, hue, and saturation. There's no preview window, and changes occur as the video runs, so unless you care for a rousing session of trial and error, be sure to tweak the settings after clicking "play." There's also a built-in screen-capture feature that includes zooming and panning, customizable themes, hot keys, and a host of preset and adjustable audio controls.
GOM is weakest when you're looking for help documentation and trying to tweak Save settings, but overall it's a very strong player worth at least a supporting role in your video-watching habits, if not the lead.

Users don't have to install codecs separately. GOM Player is capable of playing incomplete or damaged AVI files by skipping the damaged frames. It can also play locked or partially downloaded files. Its other features include drag-and-drop support, HTTP streaming, editable skins, subtitling, overlay mixer, key remapping, enhanced filter rendering, real-time index rebuilding for AVI files and unicode support among others.
Version 2.0.11.3373 can play .FLV files. (FLV4 requires additional codec download).

Pros: nice looking, with tones of options, great control panel for audio/video/subtitle manipulation, cool playlist, and preferences with customizable shortcuts, screen resizing and positioning and lots lots of other things, opens flv, and its free. used to use mv2, but now i'm switching to this one

"Was able to open a video no other could!"
Pros: Cool stuff for who doesn't want to mess and learn a new media player, but lots of advanced settings for the pros. I especially like the fact that it automatically looks up codecs so it was able to find the proper one that CrystalPlayer, Media Classic Player, not even VLC were able to! Nice all the customizations, I like the A-B repeat and the control panel in general: useful and easy to use. I decided to use this as my main video player after just 2 minutes! great!

Pros: Plays nearly all formats more to come.
Very attractive and fully functional interface.
Shortcuts are easy to remember and execute.
Very high customization capabilities.
And streaming audio and video channels are much more user friendly to use.
Too much to say so just check it out.
