From GMER :GMER is an application that detects and removes rootkits. It scans for: hidden processes, hidden threads, hidden modules, hidden services, hidden files, hidden Alternate Data Streams, hidden registry keys, drivers hooking SSDT, drivers hooking IDT, drivers hooking IRP calls and inline hooks. GMER also allows to monitor the following system functions: processes creating, drivers loading, libraries loading, file functions, registry entries, TCP/IP connections.

Version: GMER 1.0.14.14536
Pros: Easy to install and easy to unstall via start, run (see at his website FAQ). GMER supports also continuous protection for your computer against Rootkit(s) if you check this in the settings. No error(s) and no other problem(s). If your AntiVirus does not have AntiRootkit I certainly recommend GMER, the only AntiRootkit that fully detects Rootkits and not only it's hidden files.

"Hidden Rootkit that caused me too much trouble is gone!"
Pros: It finds hidden registry and system files that can be causing trouble.
Cons: Nothing at all!
Summary: I was hit hard by a worm and other junk caused by a dropper, and I even didn't open the file! Anyway, after cleaning the system, I noticed that for some reason I somehow could not update my virus scanners or download anything from Microsoft's server... read more >>
