"Near-perfect GIF animation builder"
Version: GIFfun 4.2
Pros
Easy to use. Excellent quality. Good even for use in prime location on top-level home page with larger sized photos.
Cons
The instructions are a bit sparse. It is possible to misunderstand and get a poor result. This is a pity since the potential here is sky-high!
Summary
GIFfun's potential goes way beyond just creating simple animations and site banners. We proved that it is usable for creating a very high quality slide show with large photos on the top level home page. The nice thing is that GIF animation side-steps problems with Flash or QuickTime, and its light files runs well on all kinds of browsers; old or new.

"Does the job!"
Version: GIFfun 4.2
Summary

I confused this tool on the first attempt when I tried to drag in a list of files. When I dragged them in one by one it worked perfectly and spat out my animated GIF directly into a browser window ready to inspect. Job complete within a minute!
No bells, no whistles, no fuss, a one trick pony that just does the job it claims to do with no fuss. -
"5 stars unwarranted"

I simply don't understand how this program gets 5 stars. i must be in a parallel universe. Ev single time I've used it, I give up in total frustration. I sure like the idea of rapidly making an animation, but this will definitely not accomplish that. -

it is nice that it gives the option to loop it or not. -
"Easy to use, color not the best"
Version: GIFfun 4.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This tool works very well on OSX / G5 iMac. Easy, intuitive drag and drop. No problems creating gifs in a minute or less.
Quality of the resulting animated gifs isn't the best though. Color integrity isn't very good, and seems to change frame to frame even if you're using high quality images to start with.
But, for the price (free), it's a great tool to easily make quick animated gifs. -
"This is THE BEST GIF animation app of all time."
Version: GIFfun 4.0

I've used it since it was introduced years ago for OS 9 and it only get better and more efficient.
Before Flash came along, it was all Animation with GIF, now Flash is bloated and a lot of us have gone back to GIFs for websites.
Bravo to the developer!!! -

How can anyone create an animated gif on a mac? If you could you can't tell if it moves like on a PC? To me this software is useless because it gives you no directions, help or support.
