"What happened to this company?"

I admit - the product does filter spam

Worst customer/billing/technical/sales support I've experienced in over a decade

What happened to this company? 8, maybe 10 years ago I couldn't live without them - but now it really feels like the company is being run from somebody's basement. I signed up for a trial spam filter service (Redirecting my MX info to their machines, allowing 'clean' e-mail through to mine). Worked well, and I was happy with what I saw but the annual pricing didn't make fiscal sense. I declined to purchase their product and reset DNS entries. That's when the invoices began - the highlight of which was when they sent me an e-mail requesting my invoice # to 'update their records'. Now I get an invoice, every month and impotent threats to send me to collections - irrespective of how many times I inform them that I never signed up for anything beyond trial. It's more sad than annoying, really. I can't say I can recommend this company anymore - their products may work, but that company is broken.

"Do not use this product!"

Product is actually pretty good and works effectively. Also cost effective.

GFI service agreements can cause your service to be permanently disconnected despite being in good standing with their billing. Seriously!

Do not use this product! If you do, despite being in good standing with your bills, you can have your service permanently disconnected without notice of any kind!

I'm the owner of an IT consulting company and I've been using this product heavily with many of my clients. One client has used the service for somewhere around 8-10 years. It used to be called Katharion before GFI purchased them. My clients are all in good standing from a billing perspective yet a few days ago, they had their service shut off without warning. The ultimate cause turned out to be a billing dispute between the reseller that sold us the service and his reseller. Very strange, but our reseller goes through another reseller before GFI. Due to this billing dispute, the top level reseller shut down all the accounts for our reseller, which included all of my clients. When I called GFI about this madness, I requested to have them bill my clients directly. Their response after much conversation was "we are not able to contract directly with customers who came to GFI from one of our partners (reseller), unless that partner (reseller) agrees to it". That a direct quote in an email from the folks at GFI.

All my clients have paid their bills to our reseller. For whatever reason, these two resellers are having a billing spat and the top level reseller has decided not to release our domains to be billed by GFI directly. The wonderful folks at GFI refuse to do anything about it because this service agreement is in place.

This service agreement is a major flaw in this product. The fact that GFI's agreements to not grant them authority to remove a client from their resellers/partners for any reason is absurd. My company is discontinuing use of all GFI products for fear of other service agreements that might be lurking.

I'm literally still in shock that this could happen. DO USE THIS SERVICE!
