From MGShareware :FreeRip is a free and easy-to-use application that can record digital-audio tracks directly from compact discs to PC files. You can save CD audio tracks to CD-quality WAV files or encode them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 compressed audio format. It also can convert and encode audio files from and to WAV, MP3, and OGG formats. FreeRip also lets you adjust the track volume and supports FreeDB and ID3 tagging. Finally, it includes a music search bar.
Version 2.941 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Great program for quickly and easily ripping music CDs!"
Pros: It's very easy, quick and simple to rip your music CD tracks as MP3 or OGG files to listen to on your computer system. It is free and safe. No problems at all!
Cons: I haven't came across anything that I didn't like about it!

"It's Free and it's the best! Download and you'll never Regret."
Pros: I've been using the previous versions of FreeRip MP3 and have just loved this product.Was just browsing through Download.com when I found that there was a newer version launched and didn't hesitate to have this one downloaded too.The interface is simple and is very easy to use.Helps you convert your audio CD's to mp3 format in just a jiffy.The bitrate selection helps you choose the file quality for your music.Choosing the default 128 kbps while ripping produces mp3's with CD quality sound.
Cons: I deselected the My Search Toolbar option during installation which caused an error everytime I tried starting the software and would not let me use it. However uninstalling the software and reinstalling it with the My Search Toolbar option made the product work fine.The useless toolbar can later be uninstalled through Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.

Pros: Wonderful program for simple ripping tasks.
Without heavy interface like many programs.
Ease to learn how it works.
Just try it and enjoy. ;-)
Cons: Here is missing option: "minimized to System tray".
Usually programs form this kind works in a background, this option will free my TaskBar for other non-background working programs.

Pros: FreeRIP is truly no-frills but at the same time is not too ugly or clunky. It is very easy to learn (a few buttons do pretty much everything) and fairly intuitive. It gives you tons of control over naming conventions for folders and files - this is the main reason I went with this product and I feel is what sets it apart from the competition. This is a ********-free ripper that gets the job done and does a damn good job doing it.
Cons: The no-frills GUI may make it unattractive to some people but it's such an easy program to use that you easily get over it. Plus, this means less junk to bog down your system.
