This elementary utility for locating and downloading pictures lives up to the PicGrabber part of its name, though it's no longer Free. FreePicGrabber installs as an Internet Explorer toolbar for easy access. After you open a Web gallery, a simple press of the Grab button (usually) downloads all pictures on the page. The program also lets you find and retrieve images from the Web based on your keywords. The thumbnail browser is a nice touch, especially for search results, although even the larger preview images can obscure important details.
Without filtering, porno pictures make a good deal of search results even for such innocent keywords as London, Paris, and Prague, but the adult-content blocker option takes care of this issue nicely. In some galleries, a few pictures didn't download for unspecified reasons, whereas some ad graphics did download. After 100 pictures, the program adds a registration notice in the centers of downloaded images. Web builders or anyone else who needs a fast way to download multiple images at once may appreciate FreePicGrabber.
Search on any word or phrase, and FreePicGrabber scours the Web for you, finding images, videos, clip art, and stock photos from around the world. Just pick the files you want by their small (thumbnail) view, and the full files are downloaded to your hard drive. Preview images by hovering your mouse over them. A full-screen slide-show viewer easily lets you see all your images in order. The optional Parental Control feature lets you filter out nude, erotic, and adult content. With the Web Gallery Grabber, you can instantly download any gallery you find while surfing the Web. Proprietary IntelliGrab technology grabs only the media you want, not thumbnails or banner ads. This powerful program is a must for serious Web-media users.
