"There's Some Good News and Some Bad News"
Pros: The good news is that the program is easy to use, performs as stated, and has a good deal of features that allow you to record audio from a variety of sources. In my case, I used it to record streaming audio off of the Internet. I
Cons: The bad news comes from several sources. Number one, Downloads.com obviously dropped the ball on this software by labeling it "spyware/malware free." To this, it is definitely not. It contains malware called Seekservice.
Summary: The malware seekservice is labeled by most malware info sites as usually low in threat, but as having potential to do harm. If anything, its more annoying than anything else to know that this malware was installed without you knowing about it.

"Infected with W32/Induc.A Windows Virus"
Pros: A program that contains a virus should not be on CNET
Cons: The ar.exe file in this program has been identified by multiple Anti Virus programs to contain the W32/Induc.A Windows Virus. Shame on you CNET!
Summary: I am very disappointed in CNET and CoolMedia. I installed Free Sound Recorder and used it a few times, and then discovered that it contained a virus. Hopefully I can get rid of it without rebuilding my computer.
