Excellent, simple exporter for extracting decent looking stills from grainy video. Works with quicktime player under 10.4.4
Still photos of faces with my little point and shoot digital never come out well with the crappy flash, so I shot a couple minutes of (dark, grainy) video instead. I selected a chunk with a nice looking facial expression in quicktime, copied and pasted it into a new player window, then selected a few frames with as little motion as possible. Copied/pasted that into a new player window, then File > Export... > Movie to FrameBlended Pict, and voila, a nice looking still with wayy less noise than any single frame in the video. It's still a 640x480 image, of course, but the noise of the individual frames cancels out nicely.
