FolderScavenger isn't a beauty, but it does one thing and does it well: prints and displays directory rundowns.
The program's utilitarian interface won't win any design awards, but it is easy enough to operate. A quick browser lets you select any folder to process. A filter tool is provided to help sort only specific types of files in reports. FolderScavenger lets you specify what file properties to include, such as file name, date created, size, path and more.
Moreover, you can opt to include header lines, show hidden files, and show contents of subfolders in directory itemization reports. The program shows a complete rundown of files in folders and subfolders. We were able to copy a folder listing to the clipboard and save it in a text file.
Our big complaint is that report outputs look overly simplistic. If you can get past the unsophisticated print outputs, FolderScavenger proves to be an effective tool for anyone who wants the details of their directories.
