It s not easy for an image viewer to rise above the herd, but Firegraphic does, thanks to an innovative interface and an unusually large feature set. On start-up, it displays thumbnails of images in your My Pictures folder. You can drag and drop thumbnails to a tray for later use and select more from a file tree, which looks like the one in Windows Explorer, but with a twist. As you mouse over folders, Firegraphic displays thumbnails of the first few images inside, making it easy to visually scan for pictures. Double-clicking a thumbnail launches a viewing window with the usual options, such as rotation, zooming, and cropping. Firegraphic also can burn images to a CD and acquire new ones from a scanner, a screenshot, or the Clipboard. The interface looks highly professional, if a bit unorthodox. However, for anyone who needs a powerful, lightweight image viewer, Firegraphic is well worth the slight learning curve.
