CNET Editors' review
We admit we got caught up using this Firefox extension to grab screenshots and edit them, including the capability to easily add text and draw on the image.
FireShot for Firefox places a nondescript button on your Firefox toolbar. The button contains a drop-down menu with options for editing and capturing screenshots, and accessing your preferences. The program also installs tiny, almost transparent, shortcut icons on your status bar. The shortcut icons let you edit, upload, copy, and e-mail captured screenshots, and these were very handy for handling images on the fly. In our tests, clicking the toolbar quickly brought up the screenshot in a separate window that contained options for uploading, exporting, and saving the image. We especially loved the tools for cropping, adding text, and drawing on the screenshot. Each editing feature was very easy to understand and to operate.
The editor and style and placement settings under the Options menu took a little time to figure out, and a Help file would have been a big plus, but we still found the program to be a top-notch tool. Any user who wants to add images to blogs, documents, or anything else will appreciate this effective freeware.

"Do NOT install Fireshot PRO! Repeat-do NOT install PRO"
Version: FireShot for Firefox 0.88
Pros
I like freebie Fireshot addon for Firefox; it did a great job of capturing screen shots.
Cons
Got msg stating that FS PRO was available for trial. Made horrible mistake of installing FS Pro. After 30 days, every time I used it, msg pops up and I cannot get rid of it. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled freebie FS many times.
Summary
Repeat: Do NOT install Fireshot Pro addon for Firefox. I've seen some comments that the vendor sucks you into thinking that you are installing an upgrade or maintenance version! Bad mistake!
Freebie Fireshot addon for Firefox is great! Do not make the mistake of trying or installing the FS Pro.
You cannot get rid of it, even if you uninstall/install FS, including the program for Internet Explorer; msg that the '30 days trial has expired" still keeps popping up.
Vendor website does NOT allow you to ask any questions unless you ARE a customer. Very poor vendor/customer relationship. Why a vendor would risk ticking off potential customers by installing this 'feature' is beyond me!
I see many other users also having this problem, and in spite of several suggested 'solutions', I still cannot get rid of the Fireshot Pro "expired" message. Nor can I get my original freebie Fireshot back!
No help from Firefox either! -
