This advertisement-supported Web browser manages to both add clutter and reduce functionality. FineBrowser Freeware isn't exactly free. Users are required to give up an e-mail address and view ads. The program's numerous functions are inadequately explained in a short Help file.
This is a browser well aimed at power users. It's too bad that some of those power functions are disabled in this freeware version of the browser. Numerous toolbars, sidebars, and pull-down menus account for considerable screen clutter. The app does help by ghosting unavailable icons while using certain program functions. Unfortunately, it doesn't ghost the numerous functions available only in the browser's professional version. Testers reported problems with JavaScript and image display errors.
Creating and maintaining groups of URLs is an area where FineBrowser Freeware does perform well. The program's FastView Navigator makes it much easier to move between open tabs than with Internet Explorer. Testers also agreed the browser loads sites quickly and improves bookmark management.
The disabled functions, clutter, and other small errors make this browser difficult to like. Users who find IE or Firefox too easy to operate or functional might want to give FineBrowser Freeware a test. The program is certainly more of a challenge to operate.
