This utility restores deleted or lost files from reformatted or damaged disks and from removable media formats such as CompactFlash and Memory Stick, although not from CD or DVD. For several reasons, we found the interface not very convenient for handling multiple files. For one thing, Filerecovery Professional only presents one file-list tab. Also, the program lacks an internal viewer for images. Nevertheless, Filerecovery Professional does a good job on both hard and flash drives. It restores files from disks with corrupted partition tables or boot sectors, and even from a severely corrupted drive with no directory or file information. You can search files by name but not by content. The Hexdump will show the data of the file as stored physically on the disk. Though the help file is a bit confusing, the wizard lets you make a quick start. The trial version can only recover files smaller than 10KB. Filerecovery Professional, although adequate in functionality, has a considerably higher price than similar utilities.Publisher's description
From LC Technology International :Filerecovery Professional scans and finds lost partitions, boot sectors and other file system components. Recover data from hard drives, RAIDs, most removable digital media, SmartMedia, CompactFlash, Memory Sticks, Micro Drives and more. The program supports multi-boot, striped, spanned and mirrored drives, as well as all levels of RAID Arrays. This application supports drives running the Windows on IBM compatible, Intel based machines. For the first time a total solution is available for all Microsoft file systems, allowing for fast, safe and reliable local, as well as remote, file recovery options within the easy-to-use Windows environment. This software can detect drives and partitions even if they are not visible. The full directory structure of the drive is displayed, even on NTFS, when recoverable. The product has built-in search features that make finding files much easier. There is also a browse feature that displays the hard drive's full directory structure that allows data to be saved elsewhere. This software can even scan and recover any file that has been destroyed by accidental formats, deletions or any other unexplained reasons. The program does not have to be pre-installed on the system. Single user and traveling versions are available, making this the perfect solution for end-users and technicians.
