"Not fully Windows 7 compatible?"
Version: FileStream TurboBackup 7.3
Pros
I have used TurboBackup 4 and 6 with Windows XP for years. The scheduler was a little wonky, but I set up the Windows Task Scheduler to run the backup scripts, so for a long time I was very happy with the program.
Cons
My new Windows 7 machine just doesn't have the necessary permissions to run unattended backups of a network drive. I can run manually triggered backups, but some kind of security settings prevent unattended backups.
Summary
Joe on the help desk worked with me for a while, via e-mail, but would never consent to talk to me by telephone. I think he believes the problem is with security settings in my server and in the Win 7 workstation; not his job to help me with Windows configuration. I'm planning to continue running TurboBackup on a Windows XP machine, just can't make it work in Windows 7.

"Not suitable for large amounts of data"
Version: FileStream TurboBackup 7.3
Pros
good user interface. In theory you are supposed to license a copy for every PC in your house, but you can actually buy one license and install it as many times as you want, provided you keep the download file.
Cons
not suitable for large amounts of data, like 50GB or more. It runs out of space (even if you have 30GB free), or if you backup to another PC in your home network there's a good chance that it aborts half way. Making smaller backups is a lot of work.
Summary
Not worth it. This product that has been put together by amateurs. You'll get strange error messages and even the uninstall is problematic. The helpdesk is good, but with a lousy product there's only so much they can do. On the bright side, the money-back guarantee is quick and uneventful.
