This utility stands as a fine data-backup and synchronization solution. Since FileBack PC provides a number of features that let you control backup jobs in great detail, less experienced or casual users may opt to use the step-by-step wizard. System administrators will appreciate the ability to perform backups on remote machines and install the app on multiple computers at once. You can monitor progress via logs and e-mail notifications, and the program can maximize time and system resources by archiving only necessary files. For instance, it can keep a certain number of file versions or it can save all versions over a specified interval of time. You can even set FileBack PC to automatically launch an archive job every time you alter a file. Because of its advanced features and functionality, this program is more appropriate for professionals than for home users.Publisher's description

Version: FileBack PC 4 06-Nov-2005
Pros: I have used previous versions of this software for years. Although I have never lost any data with it, it has had many, many user-interface bugs. That being said,
it has highly flexible and configurable backup options.
Cons: In the few days I've been using the trail version of 4.0 after a clean install on a new XPsp2 machine. I have repeatedly received the "schedule is corrupt" error and Fileback PC has randomly stopped running on several occassions for no apparent reason. Both of these bugs have been documented on its support board. It is patently obvious that this software has not been properly tested. This is outrageous for software designed to safeguard data.
Also, the software's FAQ says the encryption algorithm used for data is proprietary. Doesn't its author have any idea how unprofessional and amateurish this is? Security through obscurity is laughable, and even well-documented algorithms are frequently implemented incorrectly. Because he provides no information to the contrary, I must assume he has neither the background nor the expertise to properly implement encryption. I certainly have no reason to believe he has the proper academic background to implement new encryption algorithms.
I simply cannot trust this software with my data.

"Does everything I wanted it to do."
Pros: Very flexible, pretty easy to use considering how powerful it is. I tried out 4 or 5 other backup software and this was by far the best. None of the others enabled me to customize my back up, and storage of back up files, as much as this.
Cons: None.
