For a free program, this multipurpose image tool strikes us as a good find. Although the main interface looks too cluttered with buttons at first glance, the three main windows are intuitive enough once get your bearings. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows boasts a nice default design, but you can customize it to your liking with several skins.
Clicking a thumbnail puts a larger view of the shot in the lower-left pane, and you zoom in simply by dragging the mouse around. Though its image-editing tools can't compete with those offered by a full-featured suite, there's still enough here to make a decent amount of tweaks to your shots. You can resize, crop, remove red-eye, and adjust color, brightness, and contrast. You'll also find a few simple effects and filters, including Lens, Waves, and Morphs. Other nifty features include multiple folder slide shows, batch cropping and Windows Vista support.
FastStone Image Viewer for Windows can batch-convert files into a number of popular image formats including GIF, BMP, PSD, and PNG, and the slide-show creator allows you to apply transitions, specify the interval between images, and add your own MP3s as a soundtrack. We can recommend this program to everyone but professional designers.

Pros: just like i said in couple of the previous reviews i have about faststone image viewer. it features an outstanding number of essential image organzing and editing tools, the slideshow, folder panel, preview feature, drawing board, image format converting, cropping/resizing, full screen viewing(plus sidebars for convenient uses) is just the basic. what you don't expect is a full packs of more neat and handy feature, including e-mailing, special effects, drag-n-drop support, creating montages, screen capture, a spectacular magnifer with amazing clarity, contact sheet builder(make it like the pros do), plus even more newer and more innovative feature such as Histogram and multi-page builder. and much much more. this is far beyond the use of a free program!you gotta see it to believe it!

Cons: - borders taking too much screen space,
- tags (not real word tags, just persistent selection),
- lacks exif edit & exif values in sorting/renaming,
- cropping not enough precise,

"Wonderful image viewer......and so much more!"
Pros: Faststone image viewer is one fine piece of software. Its outstanding feature set belies the fact that it is freeware, and is very competitive with some commercial products in its genre. Furthermore Faststone assiduously works at improving this program as new versions with added features are released all the time. If you are unfamiliar with Faststone Image Viewer I highly recommend you download it and put it through its paces. It might surprise you!

Pros: This is an amazing program for one that does not cost a penny. All you need to access is right in front of you even while viewing an image in full view. Of the many programs I've used of this type, it is the best so far and easier to use. The learning curve is so small that a beginner can pick it up in no more than a few sessions, and the more experienced in one. Each new update has marked improvements over the last, so it's worth keeping current. This is why I've opted to be informed each time a new version is released. Greatest fear is the day when it's finished and they charge, but I'll probably buy if the price is reasonable. Between this little gem on the side for quick viewing and Adobe Lightroom, I need nothing more than Photoshop and Painter to work with my digital images and art.
Cons: It does not handle RAW images and hangs on folders with them. If they fix this little problem, it would be fantastic.

"Image batch converter for my web page."
Pros: This software is great ! I cant belive this tool is free :) Thank you so very much !
I use this program to convert hundres of pictures from TIF to JPG. In one process the TIF images are rezised and rotated just as I want.
