From SmartUtils :Learn new piano songs from fake books with the MIDI version of FastChords. Record your MIDI performances or import midi files from the net. Single step through your performance to observe your finger's work at the piano. Play a range of recorded midi while adjusting the playback speed. Build a table of chords by playing them on the keyboard then print the songs in FastChords' unique piano keyboard notation for easy reference while playing. Novices and aspiring players will be able to see which keys to play for each chord. No need to read music.
The program can even find the optimal chord configuration to simplify playing one chord after another. Experienced musicians will appreciate FastChords' ability to transpose entire songs, to play chords and melody notes, to play entire songs with correct rhythm, to identify chord names from piano keys played, to recognize chord synonyms. Version 4.6.1 has improved chord detection in midi files and improved midi handling in general.
