FRAUD, this company is a huge ripoff.
Summary
This company (Family Software Solutions) appears to be in the business of scaming people. In short, thieves.
Please be forwarned not to buy anything from them. I sent money to paypal and never recieved anything. I wrote via email and never recieved an answer.
Akso, th company promise to give you some software that you can resell, but no such software exist.
In short, fraud.
So shame also on CNET for giving that company 5 stars without first checking them out. -

Email setup is tricky, to say the least. Took 2 days for me to get the full version after paying for it.
Summary
Bottom line is it's probably the best keylogger you can buy for $15.

"Crashes frequently"

There are a lot of positives about this program that are represented in other reviews. Unfortunately, for me, the negatives rendered the program unusable, so I see no reason to go into the positives.
Cons
For me, the program crashed regularly -- I couldn't go more than an hour without it crashing. Two problems with this: (1) When it crashes, a window pops up saying that it stopped working, so whoever is using the computer knows that it was on, and (2) after it crashes, it no longer records activity on the computer.
I corresponded with the program's creator on his forum -- for the first two or three exchanges he was very responsive -- and I followed the instructions he gave. It did not fix the frequent crashing problem. He has not responded to my last post (six weeks ago, on 4/21/08) asking for more help.
Also I found that my typing suffered from a lag whenever the keylogger was on. (In its defense, perhaps if I had set it up to automatically start a new log at more regular intervals, this might not have happened? I'll never know.)
The biggest drawback to all of this is that the creator of the program has a policy of not refunding anyone their money. Oh, and by the way, it costs more than download.com says it does because you're paying in British pounds.
The program's creator seems like a nice guy, and I'd like to recommend this program, but I just can't. I have to recommend you look elsewhere for a keylogger. FKP might work great for you, but then again it might not. If your computer is like mine, you'll have a crash-happy program and be so much the worse for having parted with your hard-earned money to buy it.

"Not so Stealthy, and since I paid, I got no support."

The interface is good, and the logging ouput tells you which window the strokes went into It captures special characers like enter and backspace too, and lets you remove them with a button click. All that is nice
Cons
Its not very stealthy. In particular, the install leaves a record in your "add/remove programs" list which clearly states "Famiy Keylogger Pro" as the name of the application. The EXE file is a little more discreet (fkp.exe) but even that is very easy to look up on the web. You can fix those two items yourself.... but there is a problem that I can't solve.
it CRASHES a lot. And when it does, you get a message right on top of your screen "Faamily Keylogger Pro Crashed" and you can send the report to microsoft. Yippie - now I've announced it. That problem is one I don't know how to fix myself.
The other reviews that talk about support are a mystery to me. I've sent a few emails and gotten no response at all.

has everything i needed in a keylogger and everything is there at the click of a button.i found a bug in the software and within 12 hours the company had updated their software and made it available for me to download.microsoft needs to take a note out of this companys book.if you are looking for a keylogger that simply works when you need it to and also need a company who actually care about their customers then this is the program for you.

i found a couple of major bugs which was annoying and stopped me doing what i wanted however they updated the program for me and fixed the bugs and it now works like a charm.

the full version is brilliant . i can see every word and website the kids type and visit . they are at the age where they think they know best . i got warned they have been visiting unsavoury websites so now i can keep a check 24/7 . i even got a free spyware scanner with the keylogger which is in itself worth 9.99 .
Cons
i found the program to be great but just one little problem . it would be nice to be able to change the hotkey as i have it set for another program .

works when program window is visible. key logging and all it says it does. maybe it will work for you. worth a try if you want the logs emailed and such.

for some reason "stealth" mode wouldnt work on my computer. it tells the user to simply press a set of keys to hide the program while it continues to work in the background and nothing happened when i pressed the keys. in addition when i tried closing the program most key logger programs and such continue to record, this one stopped logging the moment i closed the window. how can you check on your kids or spouse when the program is open and accessible?
the demo is only set to run for the first ten minutes you open the program maybe stealth mode only works with the full version. i couldnt get an answer to this. and didnt want to purchase the program if it wasn't going to work for windows xp or firefox.
there are better key logging programs out there, and for free too.

"An unbiased review from a happy customer!"

i was looking for a program to keep a watch on the kids and after searching download.com i decided to try this application with it having 5 editors stars. From the outset i was not dissapointed, i purchased the product on the 16th and within an hour i had my details to login to my download area for the program itself.
Setup was easy as 1 2 3, these days theres nothing worse than having to have a degree in science just to install and run a bloody program, the interface was neatly laid out in an easy to use fashion and was in itself self explanoritary. Hiding the program from prying eyes was also very easy to do and within 5 minutes of the initial installation i had the program monitoring everything i did in stealth.
The main use for me was to keep an eye on my 3 teenage children, they use the internet daily and in todays world you can never be sure who they are really talking to. up to press the program has been doing a fine job and i have been able to keep a silent eye on my children giving me peace of mind.
i had no problems with installation or running but i did have a couple of questions regarding slight issues which were resolved very quickly to my satisfaction.
What was really good for me though was the extra's we got free of charge from this company, we got a fully featured adware/spyware scanner/remover which i might add was brilliant. This adware remover got rid of 128 individual pieces of spyware on my system, since this i have noticed my pc to be a lot faster so i would like to thank the company for this 'freebie'. These days its nice to see a firm actually looking after their customers and not only did we get the spyware remover free we also got access to a members section which also had some nice programs also free of charge.
Lastly the banners are not in the full version which is great as you could actually see in history that the demo was using the net to load banners.
