FairStars Recorder is a real-time audio recorder with support for WMA, MP3, OGG, APE, and WAV formats. It allows you to record sound from your sound card and from any other sound source including a microphone, VCR, and tape player. It can be used to grab any sound, including music, dialog from movies, game sounds, and streaming audio. The captured sound can be saved directly to WMA, MP3, OGG, APE, or WAV format, without the need for temporary files. In addition, the program includes an ID3 tag editor. Additional features include the Silence Detector and file size limits. With Tag Editor and Tag Option, you can view, edit, and import tag content or transfer tag content to the file in File List. This feature makes batch recording from the DRM-protected WMA files fast and easy.

Version 2.56 adds a feature for automatically remembering the last file type that was added manually to the File List, and corrects a mixer error in some sound cards.
