"It KIND OF works, but not really and not worth even $10"
Version: Facebook Chat Monitor Sniffer 1.2
It will catch some of the chat messages (kind of, see cons)
No names attached to chat lines, just time stamps (see below)
Not really a free trial, basically a "commercial" almost, it doesnt really like you try anything out.
When it catches chats, it just puts a time stamp on the statement. It could have been sent from either party, but whoever sent it, the program just lists the statement with the time it was sent, so if someone sends 2 statements, it could look like the 2nd was a reply from the other person, or for 3 statements or 4...you lose track of who is saying what REALLY fast. Also, doesnt even say who the chat is with at all anyway.
Also, not even CLOSE to a free trial really...how about an actually trial for 30 days to see if there is anything ELSE that is severely messed up? The program listed on cnet is the trial and will only give you the first 10 lines of any convo. First 10 lines? Really? How can we try out a program that only records the first 30 seconds of a conversation?
Overall, I think Id press my luck using wireshark and trying to come up with my on sniffing solution. For $70 for the fb client, Id rather pay a friend to write a script, because this is not worth even $10
