FTP Serv-U is an all-purpose FTP server daemon that provides a multitude of features. These include passwords, access on the basis of IP number, and multiple simultaneous users and transfers. It works well with NCSA Mosaic, Netscape Navigator, and MicrosoftInternet Explorer, and it provides access to all drives on your PC and supports links like those in Unix. Allowing different settings for each user and putting users into groups provides for easy maintenance for a large numbers of users. There is also an option to allow or prohibit clients on the basis of their IP name or number. Serv-U allows access for anonymous users and makes it possible to limit the number of clients at any given time, so your PC remains workable. It runs as a system service in Windows 95 and uses a tray icon in Windows 95 & NT4.
