Most people don't need anything more than a Web browser and a Macromedia plug-in to watch Flash videos. However, if you want a hair's breadth more control over your viewing, this open-source freeware program will do the trick.
FLV Player's exceedingly simple controls allow you to navigate backward and forward through videos and play them in a loop. You can also adjust the volume, mute it, and adjust the size of the player. The Settings menu provides some basic control over program behavior, such as opening a new player window when double-clicking on an FLV file and remembering previous settings. And that's about it.
Our only major complaint is that the display window doesn't automatically resize to the size of your movie frame. We hope this problem will be remedied in future versions. FLV Player isn't a must-have by any stretch, but it's a decent tool for penny-pinching Flash developers.

From Martijn de Visser :FLV Player is a free standalone application to play Flash FLV files with. This utility can come in handy when viewing many FLV files, as it doesn't require the Flash IDE. The installer comes with optional FLV association, so double clicking an FLV file opens and plays the file in the player.

Pros: There is not much to say but, this program rocks. Plays FLV files which is awesome. Now you can go full screen and a-b looping which is great. like I said this program is worth the download.
Cons: There is a similar program like this one except its called: GOM media player. Try it out it FREE. Yule love it :)

Pros: A small program that plays .flv files without the need of a browser. The ability to use 2X or full screen mode is a plus since original videos come are usually very small.
Cons: It doesn't uninstall previous versions of the software so this has to be done manually and before installing the new one.

Cons: it plays the videos to small..it can be made bigger but you have to check a box that says (in brackets) ''CPU Intense''
