From Image Line Software :FL Studio, formerly known as FruityLoops, is a fully featured, open-architecture music creation and production environment for PC. No extra software is required to produce any style of music, as the complete set of instrument and studio tools is included in the cost of the package. With the included plugins, sounds and tools the user can create complete songs, as well as backing tracks, loops and sizzling beats. Completed songs can be saved to WAV, MP3 or MIDI or .ZIP or native project formats (.FLP).
FL Studio utilizes MIDI and DirectSound (internal mixing), 16-bit 44KHz stereo output, and 32-bit floating-point internal mixing. You'll also get support for VST plug-ins, as well as individual panning, volume, pitch, mix, resonance, and cutoff on each note. New in FL7 are Parametric EQ2, Edison WAV editor/recorder and Love Philter. Version 7 now supports track-based sequencing. Pattern Clips present sequence data in the method as Audio and Automation Clips.Edison replaces the Wave Editor.

"Great for both amateurs and professionals!"
Pros: This program is definitely a must-try for those who are just getting into electronic music production, or are professionals looking for a suitable Digital Audio Workstation to combine their masterpieces in!
I've used it for two years now, and it's fantastic! I especially love the Automation Clips feature, which allows you to automatically control a certain knob value (such as Resonance) at certain points, all within a visual line graph. The interface is also cool -- professional-looking and customizable with different module placements, wallpapers, and photo-realistic effects on objects.
The different array of plugins to choose from is also great! From piano simulators, to subtractive synthesis, to electric guitar simulators, there's not much that this program can't do.
With all of this, the pricing is not that bad either.
Cons: Takes a bit of time to get used to the workflow, and what everything does, but once you get around that, you won't want to leave it alone!
I also found that FL Studio occasionally locks up or crashes when trying to insert Automation Clips or use certain Soundfonts. Also, performance is quite dependent on your system configuration; depending on the power of your system, playback in FL Studio may become clipped or stuttered, especially when playing many different tracks simultaneously, either some that are processed with effects and/or use large amounts of CPU memory.
Despite these differences, it's a great piece of software that produces high-quality results, perfect for beginners and professionals.

Pros: The Fact You Can create voices and mix several items at once is a mind blower
Cons: there is nothing wring apart from the price $349 but anyway the demo you can do anything on that

"I really think this program is great and easy to use. Good for starters."
Pros: What I like about this program is that is so easy to use that any beginner can manage. I also like the features, like the plug-ins, MIDI. It's very versitile over all.
