Publisher's description
From Image Line Software :FL Studio, formerly known as FruityLoops, is a software synthesizer and sequencer that allows you to create drum and other audio loops. This program is easy enough for beginners to learn, but under the hood you'll find tools meant for serious musicians. FL Studio utilizes MIDI and DirectSound (internal mixing), 16-bit 44KHz stereo output, and 32-bit floating-point internal mixing. You'll also get support for VST plug-ins, as well as individual panning, volume, pitch, mix, resonance, and cutoff on each note; digital effects, such as stretching, fading, and reverb; and master/slave MIDI-synchronization capabilities. Version 5.0 offers time stretching, audio envelopes, a new Pad controller (FPC) plug-in, and a VideoPlayer plug-in.

Version: FL Studio 5.01
Pros: This program lets you do just about anything you could ever want or need. Even without any external hardware or equipment, you can create and transform audio into anything you can imagine. I have recorded complete songs with only a few clicks of the mouse. Definately worth a try!
Cons: This is only version 5.01. I strongly urge you to download the latest version, 6.0, instead.

Version: FL Studio 5.01
"A program that caters to the up and coming musician"
Pros: Its easy to use interface and tutorials and step senquencer puts fl studio in a place of its own. Any up and coming musicians trying to break through should be using fl studio. Its serves as a great practice tool and also has the potential to produce radio ready material.
Cons: The only down side will ultiatly be ones own creativity. to just use the basics will not produce proffesional music but to dig a little deeper is to find buried treasure.plus your not goung to make a grammy award winning composition overnight so don't give up on the program when it gets hard.

Version: FL Studio 5.01
Pros: This is a hot program for beginners as well as experts. Gives you the feeling of the things you have to do in a real studio. It's making me a lot of money.
Cons: It's hard to understand when you're starting out. takes about 3-4 months to get everything.

Version: FL Studio 5.01
Pros: This thing works like Magic. Once you get the Basics, you can even make your own Recording Studio! From FX to Automation, Pads to Audio Clips, and some things you never knew existed, all kept Simple and Easy! No wonder it changed its name to FL Studio...
Cons: N/A
