Eudora is a popular email client for the Mac. Loaded with features--including the ability to filter, redirect, and forward mail--Eudora is designed to fulfill just about any need you might have in trying to keep up with email. Eudora features support for LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), automatic configuration, the ability to view and compose HTML messages, and support for graphics within messages. Eudora also features support for regular expressions in filters, an automatic spelling checker, a filter that will "speak" the name and subject of incoming messages, and a speak option that will even read your email out loud. Other features include IMAP support, the ability to display animated GIFs in HTML messages, and automatic mail retrieval in the background.

Version 5 comes with many new features:

• Eudora Sharing Protocol: Synchronize files with groups of other users.
• MoodWatch: Warn users about flame content in outgoing and incoming emails.
• Import mail from Outlook Express 5 or Claris Emailer.
• Better Palm OS support and much more.

A full list of features is available in PDF format here. This program can operate in any of three user-selectable modes. Sponsored mode allows you to use the full-featured Eudora email client at no charge, but displays a series of static onscreen advertisements. Paid mode allows you to use the full-featured Eudora email client without the advertisements once a payment has been made. Light mode is an upgrade to the current Eudora Light, yet does not have as many features as the full client available in Sponsored and Paid modes. The Light mode will include a sponsor image or logo, but no rotating advertising. You can switch between the Light mode and the Sponsored mode at any time.

Version 5.0.1 features several bug fixes and enhancements.
