Eudora is a popular e-mail client for the Mac that has the ability to filter, redirect, and forward mail. Eudora supports LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and provides automatic configuration, as well as support for graphics within messages. Eudora lets you use regular expressions in filters, and includes an automatic spelling checker and speech functions that will "speak" the name and subject of incoming messages or even read your e-mail out loud.

Other features include IMAP support, the ability to display animated GIFs in HTML messages, and automatic mail retrieval in the background. Version 5.2.1 is a maintenance release that improves overall peformance.

Note: This program can operate in any of three user-selectable modes. Sponsored mode allows you to use all features of Eudora at no charge, but displays advertisements. Paid mode allows you to use all features of Eudora e-mail client without the advertisements once a payment has been made. Light mode includes a sponsor image or logo, but no rotating advertising; however, you only get access to Eudora's basic features. You can switch between the Light mode and the Sponsored mode at any time.
