This application monitors MSN Instant Messenger activity within your LAN, though it is extremely limited in scope. EtherBoss MSN Messenger Conversation Monitor & Sniffer's interface is relatively easy to understand, with graphical buttons assigned to the most basic functions.

It keeps track of the messages in your LAN among MSN Messenger clients. During our testing the application only captures the first seven lines of conversation and generates an HTML report of IM activity in a specified folder. A convenient search for particular conversations by date, time, and sender can be performed.

As its name suggests, EtherBoss MSN Messenger Monitor & Sniffer is only designed to work with MSN Messenger. Its inability to monitor files and images shared also is disappointing. This spy utility works well, but only extends a paltry 15-day trial period. With its focus strictly on MSN, this program doesn't fare well against other multi-messenger-monitoring utilities.

The program also provides a rich-features report and a finding system for locating and exporting captured MSN conversations as HTML files. Run the MSN Sniffer on any computer on your network. No additional program installation is needed on the monitoring target computers. Version 1.2 includes unspecified updates.
