  "Broke My Ipod DONT USE!"

  Pros: None

  Cons: first used it and my ipod wouldnt start up then after about 4 weeks i tried restarted it using the usual centre button and menu and it didnt work its is actuall centre and play/pause please DONT use this software you ipod will break!

  "WARNING!!! DO NOT USE THIS!!!"

  Pros: VERY FEW

  Cons: IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOUR IPOD, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM. IM NOT SAYING THIS IS INTENDED TO BE A BAD PROGRAM, FOOLISHLY ENOUGH, I TESTED THIS PROGRAM WITH MY 30 GB VIDEO IPOD JUST TO END UP THROWING IT OUT. I TRIED EVERYTHING TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY IPOD AND HOW I CAN FIX IT. MY IPOD COULD NOT START UP, IT KEPT RESTARTING AGAIN AND AGAIN. I TRIED RESETTING IT, DIDNT WORK. TRIED PUTTING IT IN DISK MODE, WOULDN'T WORK. I SPEND HOURS STRAIGHT HAVING TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOTHING WORKED. I KNOW IT MAY SEEM LIKE I KEEP GOING ON ABOUT IT, BUT THE FACT THAT $400 WENT DOWN THE DRAIN BECAUSE OF THIS PROGRAM REALLY TICKS ME OFF. MY ADVICE, DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM AT ALL.

  Version: EphPod 2.58

  "Better than any alternative!"

  Pros: 1. Allows user to import song library from Ipod to any computer with ephpod software installed, which leads to my next pro: 2. software is easily installed on any computer.

  3. very organized viewing of whatever you like

  4. good options in menu's: "rebuild db from ipod", "wipe ipod clean", "sync and quit" feature, etc. these are clear and defined options that no user can get confused.

  Cons: This program is kind of buggy, especially for a second version. Also, when generating my song list (which is over 4,000 mind you) it is kind of slow and can lock up the computer for a few seconds.

  "works if you know what not to do"

  Pros: Ephpod is great as long as you dont mess around with stuff. I only use it to extract songs from my ipod. I dont use it to sync or change any settings on my ipod. And you absolutely have to say "no" when it asks you if you want to save your changes. When you save your changes that is what screws with all the ipods. I saved changes one time and had to reformat my ipod. Ever since then i've never had a problem. So this is a great program, just dont mess around with it.

  "It works, kinda...."

  Pros: Gives you an easy way to back up some stuff off your ipod.

  Cons: it only picks up .mp3 formats. no .m4a which means i had to go in and manually back up half my songs. doesn't do video files either.
