EmEditor Professional has the kind of hybridity we find irresistible and oh-so-advantageous in a text-editing program. This versatile editor combines a macro creator worthy of programming pundits with full-fledged, feature-rich text-editing capabilities clothed in a clean, color-coded interface. Developers and power users will love the wealth of languages and syntaxes, including C#, C , Java, PERL, PHP, Python, SQL, and XML. Though the macro creator has been boosted in this version to record PerlScript, PHPScript, Python, and Ruby keystrokes, users who need to record mouse movements should look elsewhere. We appreciate the stackable tabs, the multithreading windows, and the option to apply a 64-bit version (not tested).Publisher's description
From Emurasoft :EmEditor is a text editor for Windows that fully supports Unicode so you can edit Unicode files with multiple languages. EmEditor also supports plug-ins in order to extend the functions of EmEditor for specific needs. EmEditor is small and fast and offers a combination of reliability and capabilities. Other useful EmEditor functions include user configurable syntax highlighting, clickable URLs, OLE drag and drop, search and replace, and keyboard, toolbar, and menu customization. EmEditor supports syntax highlighting for many languages, including ASP, C++, C#, CSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript, JSP, Pascal (Delphi), Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, SQL, Tex (LaTeX), VBScript, and Windows Script.
Previous versions featurese multiple toolbars, drop-down menus for some toolbar buttons, more indent options, and support for Windows XP themes. This release features support for large icons, 256 color icons, and true color icons for toolbars compatible with the Windows XP design. (See screenshots.)
