Version: EditPad Lite 5.4.5
"Great alternative to Notepad"
Pros: The one option I use the most is the "stay on top" function. I have created some rather large files using EditPadLite, mainly genealogy information that I'm copying. The stay on top function allows me to easily copy my notes to other programs. The notes I often make are only hints or abreviated, so copy and paste aren't always useful. It has all the features of Notepad, plus I can change fonts, colors, etc. The program is stable, there are no annoying ads and as far as I know no spyware. Since I use Spybot, AdAware and SpyDoctor, I'm pretty positive about the lack of spyware.
The best part is that along with being a versitile text editor it's also free.
Cons: I wish that when I save a file that I created from EditPad, it would reopen it in EditPad automatically. It also doesn't save the stay on top setting from session to session, you have to select it each time you open the program. To me these are minor problems that are easy to live with.

Version: EditPad Lite 5.4.5
"Good, but can't handle large files"
Pros: Easy to use, and has a small memory footprint.
Cons: It states that it can handle files of any size, provided memory permits. It 'ran out of memory' when loading a 1.25GB text file, on a machine with 3GB RAM and showing 2.6GB free.
