This program offers a user-friendly and fun way to learn the basics of the German language. EasyLanguage German groups its database of words into 40 categories, including colors, body parts, fruits, and clothes. However, we should note the trial version only lets you access a few groups of words. The program offers several teaching methods depending on your prior knowledge and progress. If you're just starting out, you can click a picture to see the word spelled out and hear its pronunciation. Once you've learned the basics, you can quiz yourself by playing a matching game or filling in the blanks. When you're really confident, you can have the program administer a timed test. The interface is colorful, attractive, and easy to use, and we found the program's German pronunciation to be near flawless. Though not a comprehensive language trainer, EasyLanguage German makes a quality pick for learning basic vocabulary.
