EasyDonkey takes care of all the configuration and launching tasks for MLdonkey. EasyDonkey has two different modes of operation, according to the user's choice :

With interface

In this mode, EasyDonkey displays a window with two tabs :

• the first tab shows the status of MLdonkey (running or not running) and lets you launch or stop it.
• the second tab lets you modify the settings of MLdonkey or of EasyDonkey. These modifications don't take effect before the next launch of MLdonkey.

In this mode, EasyDonkey launches MLdonkey without any user action other than starting EasyDonkey.

After having launched MLdonkey, EasyDonkey quits, still without any user intervention. It is then possible to place EasyDonkey in the Login Items (in System Preferences) so that MLdonkey will be automatically launched every time you login.

If you wish to revert to the operation mode with interface or make modifications to the settings, start EasyDonkey while holding down the Option (or "alt") key. The interface of EasyDonkey will appear and MLdonkey will not be launched.
