This video-splitting program proves that single-minded focus can be a very good thing. First off, we should say that Easy Video Splitter only does the job in its title and nothing else. However, it makes up for this narrow scope by being extremely easy to use and offering a high degree of control over the chopping process. The interface is aesthetically pleasing and provides a large preview window on its left side. After you load an AVI, WMV, or MPEG video, you can choose the stop and end points of your segment by simply clicking two icons. We really appreciated the fact that Easy Video Splitter can cut multiple files from the same clip, a convenient feature not found in some competitors. You also can set the program to automatically split clips by size or time. Since the trial version lets you chop as many files as you want for a full week, we can give this app the green light for anyone who needs to dice up video.

Summary
I had a MPEG2 video file that i wanted to split in parts. After opening the file and plying it in the software, when attempting to split the video, the software sends an error message "invalid file".
How can it be an "invalid file" if you just played it?!?!?!
It does not work.. it plays the video, it shows you how it will supposedly be divided but once you push the "split" button, an error message will pop up! =/

I didn't get as far as splitting anything so it is hard to say, but it was able to import my video and scroll through it, as would any video player.
Cons
The only fine tuning is one frame at a time, so it is very difficult to mark the begin / end of a clip.
Summary
If you want to split one video one time into 2 parts, this might be ok, but if you want to do 10 videos in to 10 parts each, try again next year when it's developed a little more.

I'm a nerd that enjoys creating videos in Sony Vegas Pro. Recently, I've been getting into Harry Potter videos and wanted to start making my own. However, my movie files are so large that Vegas would always crash when I imported them...
That's why I downloaded this. And I have to say, I'm impressed, I really am. I cut my movies into 10-12 parts on average, and have only had an issue once or twice. This issue was that the first part didn't split quite right and was just a few kb in size. But since it works so quickly, it wasn't any trouble to just run the program again and re-do it.
Really, most of the time, its splits are clean and retain all of the quality they had originally. I'm sorry that so many others seem to have problems, but for me, I didn't need any instructions and it operates smoothly.
It's a small file anyway, so it's worth a shot! -

I needed to install this on a new computer. I get a message stating that the product key is no longer valid and I need to contact support for a new one. I've have emailed support email address given twice, and yet to have gotten a response.
Summary
There are better programs out there. Some with support that actually respond to you. For the money I spent on this, I should be getting at least an email back. Don't waste your money on this program.
