We were not very impressed with Easy Screenshot's ability to capture screenshots, though we liked its image-processing features. The program allows you to take shots of the entire screen, an active window, or a fixed rectangular area. However, the interface is very inconvenient. In particular, you can't use the mouse to define a fixed region. Instead, you have to enter numeric values for width and height! The program does offer a decent set of effects for enhancing your screenshots, including adjustments for color, blur, embossing, and grayscale. You also can add text balloons and arrows to mark up your screenshot with comments. Easy Screenshot can take screenshots at timed intervals, if you want to create a slide show. It also lets you preview your snapshots and discard the ones you don't want. Despite those features, the shortcomings in Easy Screenshot's interface keep this utility from measuring up to the competition.
