It's not difficult to locate free, fully functional CD rippers these days, so we can't get very excited about one that demonstrates some rather serious stability problems. Easy CD Extractor does live up to its name with a very simple design, allowing you to merely check or uncheck boxes next to the tracks you wish to extract.
Still, support for more audio formats would be nice, as the program can only rip songs as MP3 or WAV files. If you choose the former option, you can of course set the bit rate or encode files with VBR compression. Our tests with the program produced mix results, to say the least. In some cases, it worked very smoothly, but in others, it never successfully ripped tracks, instead returning a volley of error messages.
The five-use trial also seems a bit stingy to us, particularly in light of the stiff competition this application faces. In the final analysis, we think Easy CD Extractor is a slightly below-average offering, though it makes a passable choice if you don't encounter the stability issues described above.

Pros: Tries to be Easy CD-DA Extractor (Poikosoft) and copied its name...
Cons: ...however this one really sucks !!!
