From Poikosoft :Easy CD-DA Extractor rips audio CDs and allows you to convert files from one format to another, burn audio CDs, copy copy-protected CDs, read audio from badly scratched CDs, download and upload disc information to and from FreeDB, and get support for volume normalization, compression, and fade-in/fade-out functionality. The program supports formats such as MP3, MP4, Ogg Vorbis, and Windows Media Audio. Version 7.7.1 build 2 improves support for the Audio CD Creator and Cue Sheet features.

Version: Easy CD-DA Extractor 7.7.1 build 2
"Maybe not FREE like EAC, but sweeter to use IMO."
Pros: Sweet UI (User Interface) & I really dig on the way configuration method over many other utilities I've tried. The author does do a great job with keeping up with updated software which this is a front end for. I like the fact that it's a 3 in 1 AND tabs are used to pick which options you want. If you're backing up your own music with FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Compression) or MP3 or some of the newest methods it's a great choice.
Cons: I wish it had ISO image writing ability...meaning, write an ISO to your hard drive & not ONLY to your burner.

Pros: I've been using this software since version 4 (Dec 2000), and can confidently state that this multi-purpose ripper-converter-burner is the solution to all your ripping and encoding needs. To begin with the most important feature ;) this program rips so-called "copy-protected" CD with ease, helping audiophiles exercise their right to backup their music. It is simple to use yet highly customizable; one can choose from the pre-specified list of output file name templates or create one's own; specify copy mode, extract samples, combined tracks, DSP effects, error correction modes, CD-Text read modes, process priority settings, etc. A priority bar allows you to make the trade-off between system usage and operation speed when converting files. The new Version 7 supports external encoders that one can use while ripping. Supported formats include pretty much all the popular formats used today. With such a diversity of formats, you are almost guaranteed to find an audio quality setting that is just right for you. My recommendation is to rip to wav first (which is the fastest) and then convert to the appropriate formats. This especially helps save time when ripping many CDs consecutively. This is a program that can serve hatchling rippers with its intuitive interface, as well as satisfy a pro's craving for lots of options and control. Version 7 has a few minor bugs here and there, but you can be confident that bug reports are taken seriously and quickly fixed by the developer. The new version also starts up considerably more quickly than its predecessors. Interested? Then check out the trial version which has only a 30-day trial limitation, but NO ads or spyware (It is the developer's iron policy not to bundle ad/spyware ever).
