Good backup utilities that combine maximum user friendliness with excellent functionality and some helpful extras take the chore out of an essential duty. When all that comes for free, the excuse to blow off backups wears thin. Easeus Todo Backup is just such a free backup and restore utility. Like any good backup tool, it will back up your entire system's current state, data, settings and all, or just what you want it to, including partitions or full disks, and restore your computer in the event of a hard-disk crash or other calamity. Its Disk Cloning feature will help you migrate your operating system and data to a new hard disk when it's time to replace the old one. You can also use it to create bootable CD-ROMs using either Linux or the powerful Windows Pre-installation Environment (PE), which is a big improvement over MS-DOS.
Two things set Todo Backup apart from many other backup utilities (three things, if you count that it's free): its easy-to-use interface and its wizard-based operation. Colorful, large, clearly labeled buttons and icons make it easy for even new computer owners to use, a big plus because they need protection the most yet are usually inexperienced at securing it. The program walks users through its operations and explains each step with detailed instructions, augmented by a good Help file for further assistance.
Todo Backup is freeware and is certified for Windows 7. It downloads as a compressed file but extracts, installs, and opens without fuss.

1. Works with ide and sata drives.

Though this is more a problem with USB to ide/sata converters, it is sometimes necessary to place drives being cloned to into a docking station.
Summary
Highly recommend. The best of many cloning programs I have used. Best of all it's free unless you need the boot time features.

It works! It is free! I can set it to run in the background and never again risk losing more than a single day's work.
It created a working emergency boot disk on CD for me. I tested it and it booted so I could access the backup files on my external HDD.
It can restore the operating system to a previous backup state in case I ever crash the whole thing.
It is easier to understand and use than the software packaged with my 1TB external HDD.Cons

The help screens explain what I needed to know, but they were obviously written by someone who has not quite mastered the English language.

"Cloned Win7 to SSD where others failed"

Reported a write error on my first attempt. Worked fine the second time.
Summary
I needed to replace a failing HDD in my Dell laptop and decided to move to an SSD. The SSD happens to be smaller so I shrunk my partitions so they'd fit on the SSD. Then I tried restoring to the SSD from my Windows Home Server. This worked for me on a different setup but not this time. Then I tried Ghost. No luck. Then Parted Magic + Clonezilla. No luck. Then I discovered Easeus. The first attempt reported an error...I thought it might be because I told it to resize the main partition to fit the SSD exactly. On the second attempt, I told it to do a disk-to-disk clone, no modifications. 2 hours later, I am happily booting off my new SSD!

"Clone drive - fantastic"

I was getting error messages that my hard drive was going south on me so I bought a new drive, installed it and used this to clone the old drive. Worked like a champ! Easy, followed the wizard instructions. Clicked the box to power down PC after cloning was done and disconnected the old drive. Powered up with no problems.

None found yet.

No real big problems here. It took about an hour to back up the hard drive, then about 6 hours to clone back to another hd, but I don't see that as a big negative.
Summary
After trying many free backup programs over the years starting in the eighties, Easeus Todo Backup Free provided me with my first success at cloning and even then I may not have executed it correctly - but it worked, twice so far. As a practice,
I simply did a partition clone to an external drive from one pc, then cloned the external drive back to the C: drive in another PC. 'Worked flawlessly. I could find no glitches. Thanks sooooo much, ladies and gentlemen of Easus! I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the paid version in the near future. Thanks again! -

It seems packed with features. It is easy to use. It uses a compression utility for the backed up files.
Cons
Nagging pop up to purchase more advanced version when not using the software. I could understand if I opened and run the software, but the advertisement pops up when it wants to.
I did not find a way to determine how many files where actually backed up. Since windows routinely omits files and tells me how many could not be backed up, I would like to be able to verify how many files actually made it to the backup.Summary
I did not use enough features to provide you with better information. I just need an efficient system and file back up program. This does seem to be what you would need. However, I do want to be able to confirm how many files were indeed backed up. Therefore, I have to search for something else. Good luck to you and thanks to the developers for this software.

"A Quick and Easy Way to Back Up Your Files"

Pros
One of the easiest, most user friendly interfaces I have seen for a backup program. Files can be restored individually. Also, there are provisions for system recovery and the ability to clone an entire drive (although I have not tried these features. It can also do differential and incremental backups.
Cons
I have not yet found any negatives regarding this program. I don't know if there are more versatile programs out there, but I definitely think this one is a "keeper".
Summary
I no longer have an excuse not to back up my files. Easeus Todo Backup provides an easy way to keep my system and my files protected.
