CNET Editors' review
When you add a new hard drive or SSD to your system, you must format and partition it before you can use it. The best tool for the job is a full-featured disk partition manager, which can not only format and partition drives but repartition them, too, or change the partition type when your needs change; for instance, if you should move your C drive to an SSD, you can repartition the old drive for media storage. EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition is just such a tool. Unlike some so-called free disk partition managers, EaseUS Partition Master is a full-featured disk utility that is powerful enough to actually be useful.
We liked EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition the last time we looked at it, but it's easier to use than ever. The start screen includes an optional User's Guide, which we opened. Its headings describe what Partition Master can do: Extend System Partition, Merge Partitions, Convert Dynamic Disk to Basic Disk, Convert Primary to Logical Partition, and Copy Disk. Each operation is explained in both video and step-by-step tutorials. Next we clicked Go to Main Screen, which opened a clean, attractive interface sporting a classic disk manager layout, including table and graph data views, and with a welcome absence of oversize graphics. In addition to the main functions, Partition Master can also change labels, defragment disk and partitions, check your partitions, and create bootable CDs. A toolbar icon labeled Backup Tool doesn't access a feature but instead opens a link to download EaseUS Todo, a free backup tool we've used and recommend. You can also set a password to protect your disks, if necessary (or merely prudent).
EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition lived up to our expectations. We recommend starting with the Wizard menu, which provides easy-to-understand wizards for the three of the trickiest yet commonest tasks: Cloning a disk, copying a partition, and recovering a lost or damaged partition. And remember to back up any data you want to keep before you tinker with a partition! We like EaseUS Partition Master enough to make it our No. 1 partitioning tool.

"Great simple program, but rarely needed"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
I needed to partition half of my hard drive into FAT32 format in order to use it with my PS3. It worked flawlessly and simply and was easy to figure out. I didn't have to read any manuals to know exactly what to do.
Cons
Limited use. But that's not the fault of the program. It does what it says it will, it's just not something you will use or need often.
-
"Free but worth £30 easily"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Straight forward to use, simple but very good. Possibly the best free software available.
Cons
Don't let the fact that its free put you off.
Summary
Don't pay for partitioning software-Donate!

"Good for free"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
Necessary reboot
Summary
This program is great for users not comfortable with the Windows Partition Manager, however, the mandatory reboot each time gets frustrating.

"If I can figure how to use it, anybody can."
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Just works and is simple to use.
Cons
Didn't have this application 15 years ago.
-
"Free, fast and easy!"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
This utility is easy to use, and does what it says! Simple & slick design. The disk copy wizard provides helpful hints for copying your system (boot) hard-disk - made it a snap (once I chose the right operation).
Cons
Only problem I've had was basicly user error: I did a partition copy when I should have done a disk copy.
Summary
Awsome tool!

"It works and it's free"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Asus laptop shipped with a Recovery, a C Drive, and D drive Data partition.
The D drive wasn't nrequired but used up half the available Hard drive.
This program enabled me to extend the C drive into deleted D drive, which diskpart wouldn't allow.Cons
Only needed it for a one off usage, so no cons.

"Worked quickly and easily"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Saved me from having to spend $50 for partitioning software.
Cons
None that I could find.
Summary
I bought an SSD to replace the slow IDE hard drive in my Thinkpad X40. I transferred the old drive to the new by restoring an archive of the drive image made with Acronis True Image Home. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to properly expand the size of the partition I was restoring to take advantage of the new, larger drive. The restored image was exactly the same size as the original, leaving almost 1/2 of the new drive unallocated. This software let me easily expand the size of the restored primary partition to take advantage of the new drive.

"Outstanding + Here is how to expand C: drive tip"
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Pro: It works. It's free. It's easy to understand.
Cons
Con: None visible.
Summary
Outstandingly simple and effective tool.
Sorry - cut and pasted step 2 a few times there. I'm sure you can still understand what I said tho. (And yes it was my home computer I used this on ^^)
Here is the get out of jail tip I promised you:
Both Windows Diskpart and this tool make it very clear that you cannot extend a partition tht does not have space already next to it on the disk. What they call 'Contiguous'. Unfortunately this is likley to be the very C: drive you want to expand when Drive D: is already in the way. If you have this:
|<------------C:----------->||<----D---->|<-----unallocated space-------------->|
You need to do this:
1. Use Copy Partition to create a copy of the D: drive
|<------------C:----------->||<----D---->||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
2. Check the original D: carefully - and you did back it up right?
|<------------C:----------->||<----D---->||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
2. Check the original D: carefully - and you did back it up right?
|<------------C:----------->||<----D---->||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
2. Check the original D: carefully - and you did back it up right?
|<------------C:----------->||<----D---->||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
3. Delete your original D:
|<------------C:----------->||<-empty->||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
4. NOW extend C: and you wil lfind it works
|<------------C:------------------------>||<-D copy--->|<-unallocated space--->|
5. Right click on the copy of D: and select advanced. Change th drive letter back to D:
|<------------C:------------------------>||<----D---->|<-unallocated space--->|
As in the diagram above - it's just ike you extended C: the easy (and unfortunately impossible way).
NUMEROUS REBOOTS TO ALLOW EASUS TO WORK WERE OMITTED FROM THE ABOVE - ALWAYS BACK UP - AND ABOVE ALL BE PATIENT - THE ABOVE TAKES A BIT OF EFFORT AND TIME.
Anyway, that's my personal thanks for Easus making this great tool available. Hope it helps someone. I wouldn't usually bother with such a big comment, but they went first already with the free home version efforts.
Cheers
John

"Absolutely simple to use and easy to follow help."
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
Very easy to use, simple help section to guide you through the whole process. Makes partioning and formatting a simple operation. No problems at all.
Cons
Dont like that I didnt find it sooner!
Summary
Not what I expected from a free software. This program really works and works easily. If you dont know what to do, just hit " Help" and it shows you what to do. This software makes a complicated, comfusing job and makes it three or four steps and you are done. No data lost, just a nice new partition for another OS and another for storage. Great program!

"It was very easy to use and simple."
Version: Easeus Partition Manager 3.5
Pros
It worked the way it was described to work and it is free. You just can't beat that!
Cons
Can't say anything negative about this product because it worked great in my first attempt.
Summary
I never expected a free product to work with relative ease as this one. Now I can upgrade my hard drives without any hesitation.
