Publisher's description of ESPN Motion
From ESPN:Missed the winning shot, run, pass, goal, putt yesterday....catch it today on ESPN Motion. ESPN Motion brings you the finest quality video you've ever seen online. Built into the pages of ESPN.com, ESPN Motion delivers highlights from all major sports with no streaming or buffering. Installation is quick and easy and best of all it's free. The client works by automatically downloading video onto your harddrive in a temporary folder. Later, when you go to the ESPN.com front page or our new Motion player, we can detect what videos you have and automatically play crystal-clear video for you with no buffering. All this happens in the background and you shouldn't even notice anything going on. When a new video has been downloaded and is ready to view, you should see a blue 'E' icon in the right side of your Windows taskbar (your "system tray"). Either click on this icon, or just visit the front page of ESPN.com and your ESPN Motion video will start playing automatically.

Version: ESPN Motion 2.3.0.0003
Pros: Its free.
It downloads ESPN content to your machine for viewing on ESPN.com webpage.
Cons: It downloads advertisements along with the actual ESPN content. Everything is advertisement supported these days.
Videos were originally pure hi-quality WMV files. Now they are some kind of proprietary format that cannot be viewed in Windows Media Player. I used to copy the WMV's I liked for storage and later playing. Can't do that with this new version.
ESPN.com now has the motion player built in and does not require an extra installer to view the video content. You do not need to download this software to view video content on ESPN.com.
