CNET Editors' review
The EPS file format is used for vector-based graphics and other types of images, and it's a fairly common format, supported by such popular programs as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, and QuarkXPress. Still, not all image-viewing programs support EPS, and if you're not a graphic designer you may not have a program that can handle it. EPS Viewer is a basic program that lets you view and convert EPS files. It's pretty bare-bones, but it will do the trick if you have an EPS file and no other way to open it.
The program's interface is quite plain and intuitive. As soon as the program is launched, it opens a dialog box that lets you navigate to the desired EPS files. Once the image is open, you can zoom in and out, and rotate or resize the image. Files can be saved in JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, or TIFF format, which makes the conversion process quite easy. And that's really the extent of what EPS Viewer does. It has no menus, no other features, and no Help file. If you're desperate for a way to open and view EPS files, this program isn't a bad choice. Just be aware that you're not going to be able to do much besides open EPS images and convert them to other file formats.
EPS Viewer installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Cons

Summary

"Works perfectly!"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
I have Windows 7, and it worked perfectly - not a hitch! And free is nice.
Cons
None - it works as advertised
-
"Does what you ask, but not that Intuitive."
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
The program did open and convert the picture just fine.
Cons
It wasn't until I read some of the reviews that I realized you could enter resolution numbers in the box. Initially the 4.4MB picture opened at a resolution of 142x142. It looked ridiculous! Since there is no menu or help button, I initially thought the program was a dud. Once I realized that you could change the resolution numbers, things went off without a hitch!
Summary
Just know that you can set the resolution in the boxes at the top left and this program works fine.

"doesnt wory"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
these might possibly exist, but can never know if the program doesnt even open.
Cons
i open, then it closes by itself.
Summary
useless.
-
"Darn near useless"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
It got 2 stars because it loaded every EPS file that I threw at it, and is a small and lightweight application.
Cons
Loads EPS files in very low resolution then scales them up in bitmap mode. Jaggies are "corrected" with blurring. Absolutely horrible.
Summary
This is a piece of crap. Don't bother until it either loads images in vector mode, or gives you a choice of resolutions.

"DO NOT INSTALL"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
The negatives far outweigh any positives.
Cons
Very sneaky how they hijack your Google search engine in your browser, call it GOOGLE SEARCH, and redirect you to what they want. Not cool that download.com hosts this program.
Summary
Sneaky and unethical.
-
"good, but the images could be a little bit more sharper"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
free viewer
Cons
none to complain
-
"Almost what I was looking for."
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
Downloaded with no problems and installed quickly and easily. Very simple to use.
Cons
I had a problem with it completely displaying one of my .eps files. No matter how I resized the image it still chopped off a small portion at the top and bottom of the image frame.
Summary
All in all, you can't beat the price and EPS Viewer did most of what it's supposed to do. If you want something more sophisticated, you're going to have to pay for it.

"Slow and Blurry with unwanted extras"
Version: EPS viewer 3.2
Pros
EPS viewer installed quickly.
Cons
EPS viewer asks to install a toolbar for your web browser. If you say no it still tries to install the toolbar. Luckily Google Chrome blocked it. Once EPS viewer is installed it opens eps files slowly (~1 minute each) and the files appear blurry irrespective of how they appear on other viewers.
Summary
1) Attempts to install unwanted toolbar, even if you decline.
Figured out how to unblurr EPS files. You have to increase the width/height. This does not change your zoom range, but makes the image sharper with increasing width/height. I am using a height of 2200 to mostly unblurr the EPS files. With this in mind I'd increase the rating to 3 or 4 stars since it now accomplishes the desired task.
2) Opens EPS files slowly.
3) EPS files appear blurry.
