The EPS file format is used for vector-based graphics and other types of images, and it's a fairly common format, supported by such popular programs as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, and QuarkXPress. Still, not all image-viewing programs support EPS, and if you're not a graphic designer you may not have a program that can handle it. EPS Viewer is a basic program that lets you view and convert EPS files. It's pretty bare-bones, but it will do the trick if you have an EPS file and no other way to open it.
The program's interface is quite plain and intuitive. As soon as the program is launched, it opens a dialog box that lets you navigate to the desired EPS files. Once the image is open, you can zoom in and out, and rotate or resize the image. Files can be saved in JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, or TIFF format, which makes the conversion process quite easy. And that's really the extent of what EPS Viewer does. It has no menus, no other features, and no Help file. If you're desperate for a way to open and view EPS files, this program isn't a bad choice. Just be aware that you're not going to be able to do much besides open EPS images and convert them to other file formats.

Pros
I can now view .eps files. There's an option up top to adjust the resolution; for some reason the files seem to open at a very low resolution but are easily changed.
Cons
It installs a toolbar and some other extensions, EVEN WHEN you de-select them during installation. This is extremely disappointing.
Summary
The reason I come to CNET for downloads is because this junk isn't supposed to happen with a recommended product/download. I'm extremely disappointed. The program itself works fine, but I wouldn't recommend the download because you're adding who-knows-what-else to your computer along with the EPS Viewer.

When you install this software, it will change your search options in your web browser, install unwanted toolbars, install unwanted software. I'm sorry I every installed this software.

Does let you view eps files. But, amazingly they are blurry even though they are vector files.
Cons
Hijacks Google Chrome. Installs new toolbar, changes your home page and load settings for Chrome, and who knows what else I haven't found yet. Very unethical. I can't believe the editors at CNET gave this thing an approval rating. I usually trust CNET quite a lot, and I am disappointed to have been misled like this.

I have no pros to list as the cons outweigh any option. Try using MS Word or other word processor to view eps files by inserting them as a photo.

When you download this program it requires you to accept the addition of other programs with no option to skip those programs. It changes your Internet search options and settings. I do not recommend the program.

The program did open and convert the picture just fine.

It wasn't until I read some of the reviews that I realized you could enter resolution numbers in the box. Initially the 4.4MB picture opened at a resolution of 142x142. It looked ridiculous! Since there is no menu or help button, I initially thought the program was a dud. Once I realized that you could change the resolution numbers, things went off without a hitch!

Just know that you can set the resolution in the boxes at the top left and this program works fine.
