  "Recovered files from a bad partition."

  Pros: Windows suggested that I format my lost partition (warning! don't say "yes" to this suggestion). But Easeus DRW located all the files in the partition and I was able to save them.

  Cons: None so far. The demo worked well.
  Everyone wishes the scanning would go faster but it seems that products this deep need to spend time scanning. The demo automatically saved the results of my scan and I reloaded them with the paid copy.

  Summary: There are lots of data recovery programs out there and few comparative reviews. Who can try them all? You have to have damaged disks to test these products.

  "Does what it says"

  Pros: Easy to use, recovers data othjer software couldn't find

  Cons: Scanning process is slow - need to rescan with licenced product, rather than just filling in product key

  "Who needs data recovery specialists?"

  Pros: Supremely user friendly, and fast. The demo I downloaded first accurately reported what could be retrieved (so be sure and try the demo if you have any doubts). I was able to even get a student discount without much trouble.

  Cons: Um, I'm sure there's gotta be something.... Well, I can't see anything.

  "It worked for me"

  Pros: It worked for my situation.

  Cons: None so far

  "Effectively found all data from "frozen" partition."

  Pros: It did what it is supposed to (recover my data) very well and efficiently, and it is hard to go wrong with this software.

  Cons: It seems as though there could be a bit more effort in providing more information about the recovery in helping the consumer understand what has happened, why, and how to avoid what has happened in the future.
