"Was this written by a precocious child?"
Version: E-mail Address Validator 2
It gave me a few interesting moments.
It definitely does not work at all.
This software only pretends to work.
I am an ex-cop, and I have seen a thing or three, but this is in a case of its own!
If it was written by a very precocious child, then there is no harm done, and the best of luck to him. He will probably grow up to be a genius and start the next Micro$oft.
If this was written by an adult, then perhaps he would benefit from having a long talk about his problems with a sympathetic person.
I tested the product with a file of 27 valid and 33 invalid emails.
It pretended to work and reported 61 processed and 54 valid, refusing to give detailed results until I paid to register the product.
It then tried to trap me by refusing to exit until I gave an email address for its newsletter.
The associated website at www.HotHotSoftware.com gives the same indications of either a child (no contact details) or an adult with difficulties (things are just not quite grown-up).
Tested on 20 Feb 2009 under Vista SP1 by firstname.lastname@example.org.
