From LC IBros Solutions :Duplicate Music Files Finder can track your music files duplicates and delete them. The program uses advanced search techniques to detect duplicates (it searches MP3s TAGS, detects duplicates even if the file names are not the same etc). If duplicates are found you can delete the files you want: just check them and press the right mouse button. You can also play the selected files in your favorite Media Player to see if they really are duplicates.
Duplicate Music Files Finder comes with two more modules that can be used to quickly rename bad formated music files/Tags (artist & title tags). Just load one folder and it will detect the bad formated files/Tags and let you choose which of them to rename. Even though Duplicate Music Files Finder is specialized in detecting duplicates of music files, it does not mean that it can be used only for these file types. You can use the CRC Match or Exact File Name match methods to detect duplicates of other file types.

Version: Duplicate Music Files Finder 1.6
Pros: I had over 40,000 jpgs in various directories throughout my hard drive. Maybe as much as 5 minutes later the dupes were identified, and about a minute later 1000 dupes were deleted.
Cons: Well... one thing I don't like really CAN'T be avoided - it's my fault. :) The program I use defaults to saving in a subdirectory of the program's directory. This means the files are in Program Files directory as well. As a safety feature, it warns that files in Program Files are going to be deleted - and defaults to NOT deleting them unless you answer "NO" (It asks if it should SKIP deleting them).

Pros: I like how easy some of the options are it found the duplicates fairly quickly when I ran it on my music folder
Cons: I don't like how you choose which files to delete, this is a very small problem but still can get annoying if you have a lot of duplicates.
Maybe too much to ask of a free program but it'd be nice to have the program select the files it believes are worth deleting and keep the original unchecked.

"Works fast, works well, simple to use"
Pros: Simple interface, easy to use, good media player integration made findin confirming and removing duplicates from 60 gig music library simple, relatively fast and painless compared to other apps I've tried.
Cons: Still have to verify "best" of the duplicates and delete the others manually. Then again, I haven't seen an app that would do this acceptably.
