From Ashisoft :Find and remove duplicate files, and search for duplicate file contents regardless of filename. Duplicate MP3s, photos, and any file types can be searched. Duplicate Finder matches byte by byte or using CRC32 to give you the most accurate results. A list of duplicate files can be sorted, exported, and acted upon. A search session can be saved. Duplicate files can be deleted, moved, or copied. You can clean up your hard drive and manage files better.
In version 2.5, you can save sessions, including results; this will save you a lot of time when dealing with large numbers of files.

Version: Duplicate Finder 2.5
"Perfect tool for removing identical files"
Pros: I have used Duplicate Finder to eliminate thousands of duplicate files on my hard drive. Duplicate Finder is easy to use and very fast. I especially like the fact that you can search any one folder or the entire drive. It has saved me days of hand labor. I tested the program by making small changes in identical files and found no errors.
A great program and response to questions by the author was quick and concise. I would recommend this program to anyone looking for duplicate files.

Version: Duplicate Finder 2.5
"I'm finding Duplicate Finder a very useful tool."
Pros: Duplicate finder has proven itself to be a real workhorse for me. I had a huge number of document image files with duplicate file names on files with differing content and files with the same content but different names. Times and dates did not match and because they were imaged documents the contents could not be compared except bit by bit.
Duplicate Finder has been up to the task and it has even saved me from deleting all copies of a file by issuing a warning and allowing me to recover. I have complete confidence when I issue the delete command on thousands of files that they are the right files (even though the names, dates and times may differ for a given duplicate) and I know that I'm not erasing all copies of a file because the program won't let me unless I tell it I want to.
The developer has been very responsive whenever I have made a suggestion or comment to him and a pleasure to deal with.
I wholeheartedly recommend Duplicate Finder to anyone who wants to tackle their duplicate files.

Version: Duplicate Finder 2.5
Cons: After trying the demo I bought it so that I could delete more than the 2,000 files the demo allows. After searching through my hard drive I selected the delete duplicate files option, this resulted in the software crashing. After many many tries I wrote to their technical support, they replied saying there was no problem with the software and would not give me any refund! This software is by far outclassed by its competitors. DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE AS IT IS RIDDLED WITH BUGS AND EASILY CRASHES YOUR SYSTEM. After I tried and bought 'no clone' (also available on download.com) which is by far superior, not just because it works but has much more functionality and options.

Version: Duplicate Finder 2.5
Cons: I have just tried the demo and found it to be very basic compared to similar software available. It also put loads of bugs on my system and after a while caused my computer to crash all the time. I have a high spec 3.4 GHZ PC with 2GB RAM with XP so my spec certainly wasn't the issue. After uninstalling it my system returned to normal. I agree with the other review that this is something you should avoid purchasing.
